So the $119 includes a full-size bottle?
Yes. One full-size 100 ml bottle of whichever scent you choose, plus all six sample vials, plus free US shipping on both deliveries. A bottle on its own is $119 — the same $119. The samples, which we sell separately for $39, are added at no cost.
Then what exactly is the $39 saving?
Buying the pieces separately costs $158: $39 for the Discovery Set, $119 for a bottle. The Signature Set gives you both for $119. The $39 difference is the trying — normally a cost, here included.
How long do the samples last?
Each 1.5 ml vial holds 25–40 sprays, depending how heavily you spray — so 150–240 sprays across all six, or two and a half to four months of daily wear. Enough to wear each one repeatedly, in different weather, before you decide.
Do I have to choose my bottle straight away?
No. Samples ship first and there is no deadline. Wear them for a week or a month, then tell us the winner and your bottle ships free.
What if I don't love any of them?
Then you're covered by the 30-day money-back guarantee — a full refund, no pressure to pick a favourite you don't actually want.
Is this a good gift?
It is one of Ruth+Bo's most popular gifts, and it's the gift version of the problem the set solves: a full bottle bought for someone else is an expensive guess about their taste. This way they explore all six and choose the one they love — no guessing required. Everything ships in premium packaging, ready to give.
If I give it, who chooses the bottle — me or them?
Them. The samples go to whoever you're giving it to, they wear all six, and they tell Ruth+Bo which one won. The full-size bottle then ships free to that address. You give the collection; they keep the keeper.
Can I give it for an anniversary or a wedding?
It's one of the most common reasons people buy it. If you already know their scent, the pair sets — Adam + Eve, Ruth + Boaz, David + Bathsheba — are two full-size bottles for $209 (normally $238), matched by story. If you don't know their scent, the Signature Set is the safer gift.
I buy gifts in bulk — is there a better option?
Yes. The Starter Gifting Package is ten Discovery Sets plus five full-size bottles for $827, against $985 bought separately — built for closings, clients and a year of thank-yous. You name the five bottles in the order notes, or leave the mix to Ruth+Bo.
What does “Eau de Parfum” actually mean?
It describes how much perfume oil is in the bottle — and nothing else. Eau de Toilette holds less; Extrait holds more. None of those words tell you anything about the quality of what's in there. A bottle packed with cheap aroma chemicals is still a cheap fragrance, whatever percentage is printed on the box.
Isn't a higher concentration always better?
No — and it's the most common way fragrance gets mis-sold. Concentration is a trade-off, not a ranking: Extraits tend to last longer but sit closer to the skin, Eau de Toilettes tend to carry further but fade sooner. Eau de Parfum is the sweet spot for both, which is why Ruth+Bo bottles there. Plenty of excellent scents are better as an EDT. What actually separates a good fragrance from a bad one is the raw materials and the perfumer — not the number.
Why can't I just pick the one that sounds best?
Because skin isn't neutral. Your warmth, your skin's pH and how dry it runs all change how the materials behave, so the same bottle reads differently on two people. A notes list tells you the idea of a fragrance, not what it becomes on you four hours in. That gap is the whole reason this set exists.
Where are they made, and are they safe?
Hand-crafted in the USA by master perfumers, using clean premium ingredients sourced globally. Every fragrance meets IFRA standards and is FDA registered under MoCRA 2022.
